Stanza (James Middleditch), originally from Birmingham, blew up on the Bristol DJ circuit whilst studying Business Studies at UWE in 2004. Playing out regularly, Stanza won numerous DJ competitions including those run by Innovation In The Sun/Random Concept (judged by BBC1′s DJ Friction), Bedlam/Valve and Drum&Bass Arena/Ministry Of Sound.

No longer content with just playing music and having developed a keen ear for what sounds good, Stanza has redirected his energy into creating his own tracks. Having had releases on Plush and Influenza, his track “Rose Garden” was featured on Hospital’s “Sick Music 2″ album. This led on to more from Stanza, as his remix of Grum – “Heartbeats” – was featured on “Hospitality Drum & Bass 2010″ for which he also provided the dj mix. His track “Number Gas” was also released on Allsorts’ “Altered Plates”.  Since then Stanza has featured on DJ Vapour’s 36 Hertz label, Drum & Bass Arena’s 2012 Album, Diffrent Music and has releases forthcoming on Mainframe and Regal Records.

Drawing influence from absolutely anything and everything, Stanza’s production can’t be pigeon-holed but is starting to gather support from all corners of the scene. This is just the start!
